A block producer in Aksu, Xinjiang, has moved into the installation stage of a self-insulating block line upgrade. The project is not a greenfield factory. It begins with an existing line, a known production history and a specific list of bottlenecks that the customer wants to remove.

The original process used square moulds and a reciprocating saw. Over time, the customer found that cutting speed, dimensional control, manual handling and the overall production rhythm were limiting future output and product consistency.

Upgrading the process instead of replacing one machine

The documented upgrade proposal changes the mould and cutting logic together. The line is being converted from square moulds to a longer-mould process, with related changes to tracks, transfer equipment, demoulding, surface removal and vertical cutting.

That system view matters. Installing a faster cutter alone would not solve a slow mould cycle or an awkward transfer path. Likewise, increasing the formed volume would create another bottleneck if cutting and handling could not accept the larger block body at the correct time.

The practical design therefore focuses on how the mould box, ferry car, demoulding equipment, surface remover, vertical cutter and conveyors work as one sequence.

What is happening at the Aksu site

Equipment has arrived and the service team is working through track installation, ferry-car positioning, mould-box installation, mixer connections, demoulding equipment, surface-removal equipment and cutting-system alignment.

The team is also checking the existing factory dimensions and foundations against the new movement path. Upgrade projects need this extra verification because the new equipment has to work around structures and utilities that were designed for an older process.

Once mechanical installation is complete, the next steps will be equipment alignment, dry running, linked testing, operator training and product trials. Stable output should only be evaluated after those stages are completed.

An existing line does not always need to be discarded. If the mixer, building, raw-material system or other sections remain usable, a targeted upgrade can focus investment on the real constraint. The correct scope depends on measured cycle times, current product quality, factory clearances, mould condition, cutting performance and the customer’s output target.
