RAW MATERIAL OPTIONS

Use Locally Available Raw Materials Where the Process Allows

Ceramsite products use expanded-clay lightweight aggregate with a compatible binder system. Aggregate grading and water absorption affect the final process configuration.

Test the ceramsite aggregate

Review expanded-clay grading, density, moisture, absorption and supply consistency with the selected binder system.

Representative samples are needed before feeding, metering, mixing and finished-product equipment are selected.

Adjust water and mixing to the aggregate

Testing determines pre-wetting needs, water demand, batch sequence, mixer operation, mould filling and curing conditions.

Cutting and handling are then selected for the verified product geometry and cured condition.
